To remove the burden of multiple taxes from each stage of a supply chain in India, Goods and Service Tax or GST has been implemented on July 1, 2017. The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has provided IT infrastructure and support to involve and connect central and state governments, Central Board of Excise and Custom (CBEC), taxpayers along with their tax, software consultants and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) along with banks for successful implementation of GST system.
A taxpayer can access online GST system through the G2B portal provided by GSTN. However, using the third-party applications will be better because they have richer interfaces and features required for various groups of taxpayers. These applications connect with GST filing system via GST system APIs. GST Suvidha Provider or GSP is one of the most trusted developers of these applications and therefore have been selected by GSTN to provide better interface to taxpayers.
