02.

What is a CB?

A CB (Certification Body) is an independent organization accredited to audit and certify a company’s management system against a specific ISO standard. A valid CB must be accredited by a recognized national or international accreditation body.

03.

What are the various top-tier certification bodies?

Globally recognized certification bodies include TÜV SÜD, SGS, Bureau Veritas, DNV, Intertek, BSI, and IRCLASS.

04.

What is the validity of an ISO certification?

ISO certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of issue, with annual surveillance audits. After 3 years, a recertification audit is required.

05.

Is it important to have an internal auditor of ISO 45001:2018 before the certification audit?

Yes. ISO 45001 requires internal auditors to evaluate the effectiveness of the OHSMS. Having a trained internal auditor ensures compliance, identifies gaps, and improves audit readiness.

06.

How to validate the authenticity of a certificate?

Verify: whether CB is accredited, IAF logo, certificate details, certificate number, accreditation mark, and use CB or accreditation body websites for verification.

07.

Do I need ISO 45001 certification or alignment?

Tata Steel requires alignment for CSMS compliance; full certification is advised for high-risk projects.

08.

How long does the process take?

Usually 8–12 weeks, depending on your existing system maturity.

09.

What if I have gaps in my audit?
